Abstract

The Learning and Research Resource Center of the Universidad del Pacífico has incorporated a virtual service as a contingency plan for the COVID-19 Pandemic to the Information Literacy program (ALFIN). The objective of this descriptive cross-sectional study is to evaluate the virtual service incorporated between May and October 2020, 216 students of the 1,384 enrolled and 49 of 213 teachers used the service. The activities were organized in session 1 (initial) for teachers and students without prior knowledge interested in searching for information in reliable sources; session 2 (intermediate level) to refine searches in more specialized sources and session 3 (advanced level) to enhance information skills and competencies. In addition, personalized and group counseling was included. A satisfaction survey was applied in Google form with the Likert Scale. 75% of the students were Medicine and 33% of the Marketing teachers. The sessions with the highest participation of students was session 2 (37%) and for teachers section 1 and 3, both with 45%. The evaluation was positive, which encourages the continuity of the service and its constant improvement.
