This research job was conducted in the laboratory of the Microbiology and Immunology Department of the Faculty Veterinary Sciences of the National University of Asuncion, with the objective of determining β-lactam antibiotic residues in raw milk marketed in the cities of San Lorenzo, Ñemby, Luque and Limpio. One hundred samples of raw milk acquired in the aforementioned cities were analyzed, the samples were subjected to analysis to determine the presence of β-lactam antibiotics using the “BetaStar® 100” Antibiotic Detection Test. The obtained results have proven that of the 100 analyzed samples (100%), 97 samples (97%) proved negative to the presence of residues. However, 3 samples (3%) proved positive to the presence of the aforementioned antibiotics residues.
