This article is a brief overview of the history of the National Atomic Energy Commission, which is currently an institution under the National University of Asuncion. It has been working on the promotion and peaceful use of nuclear energy and ionizing radiation in the country since its creation. It details its functions and the specialized services it currently provides to society.
