We present a case of myiasis in the lower limb due to Dermatobia hominis in which ultrasound was used to visualize the larvae and confirm the diagnosis before removing them. In this report, we discuss our patient's presentation, course, treatment, and the utility of ultrasound imaging, that when it is available, is a useful and non-invasive tool to help establish the diagnosis of furunculous myiasis.

Key words: cutaneous myiasis; dermatobia hominis; ultrasonography
