Abstract

TORRES-MARRUFFO, Diego Renato et al. Construction of an observation record associated with the prevention of tuberculosis behaviors in peruvian adolescents, 2025. Rev. cient. cienc. salud [online]. 2025, vol.7, e7117.  Epub Sep 30, 2025. ISSN 2664-2891.  https://doi.org/10.53732/rccsalud/2025.e7117.

Introduction. Tuberculosis (TB), caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, remains one of the most prevalent diseases worldwide and spreads rapidly in contexts of precarious health systems, which led to the creation of Goal 3.3 of the Sustainable Development Goals to reduce its incidence by 90% by 2030. In this regard, any intervention method requires the measurement of associated behaviors at both the preventive and promotional levels. Objective. To develop a structured observation record associated with the prevention of tuberculosis behaviors in a sample of school-aged adolescents. Materials and Method. The study was instrumental in design with a sample of 11 expert judges and 30 high school students. Results. The findings showed the presence of four distinct dimensions: “Use of a mask (KN-95) in enclosed spaces,” “Social distancing, separation from other people by at least one and a half meters or the length of both arms of the participant,” “Hand washing,” and “Covering the mouth when sneezing/coughing in enclosed spaces.” explaining up to 90% of the variance attributed to the items on the scale, which had high levels of discrimination, high levels of difficulty (b>.970), and an acceptable level of reliability (KR-20=.720). Conclusion. The instrument has optimal evidence of validity based on the content of the items, internal structure, and reliability due to internal consistency.
