Abstract

LEVY, Melina; PINEIRO, Juan Pablo  and  AMARILLA, Yanina. The visibility of papers: Reflections on the implications of the internationalization of research in the UNLAM case. Rev. Soc. cient. Parag. [online]. 2025, vol.30, n.2, pp.56-66. ISSN 0379-9123.  https://doi.org/10.32480/rscp.2025.30.2.5666.

Over the past few decades, the academic literature specialized in the production of scientific knowledge has assumed that the main determinants of the visibility of articles or papers published in scientific journals are primarily the journal's indexing, the language in which it is written and the composition of the author team. Various theoretical and statistical examinations have been carried out to this end, although these have always considered some of these variables in isolation. The aim of this article is to analyze the factors influencing the number of citations received by scientific articles published by professors and researchers at the National University of La Matanza (UNLaM) in 2018. To achieve this, a quantitative methodology was employed. We performed a series of simple and additive linear regressions using R Studio, which allowed us to measure the impact of four factors on the cited papers.

Keywords : Papers; Visibility; Internationalization; Nacional relevancy of papers; University.
