Abstract
ENCISO SANTACRUZ, Derlis et al. Spatial distribution of physical properties of the soil and its influence on the yield of corn under not tillage. Rev. Soc. cient. Parag. [online]. 2025, vol.30, n.1, pp.56-69. ISSN 0379-9123. https://doi.org/10.32480/rscp.2025.30.1.5669.
In no-tillage systems, soil compaction negatively affects root system development. To optimize soil management and productive sustainability, it is important to know the spatial distribution of soil compaction. The objective of this research was to analyze the spatial distribution of soil physical properties and their influence on corn yield under conservation management. The research was carried out in a 31 ha plot, at depths of 0-10; 10-20 and 20-30 cm. The sampling points were distributed in a systematized way, totaling 37 sampling points. The data obtained were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis and geostatistical analysis. The study area presented high levels of mechanical resistance to soil penetration (> 2 MPa) and bulk density (>1.5 g.cm-3) in the superficial layers (0 to 20 cm depth), low total porosity (< 45%) and water infiltration rate (< 15 cm.h-1), with a heterogeneous distribution. Grain yields were higher than 6,500 kg ha-1 in 75% of the study area, with a decrease in grain yields in areas with limited soil physical properties.
