This article proposes an analysis of the labor conflict in Paraguay between 1931 and 1947, the period of greatest influence of communism in the Paraguayan labor movement. It is also a particularly conflictive period, with the beginning of state intervention in labor conflicts and the development of the first labor legislations. In the stage of an economy of enclaves in crisis, the major companies strongly resisted the application of the new laws, unleashing important cycles of strikes. Given the increase in labor conflicts, the nationalist governments tried to take control of the conflicts and discipline the labor movement under their tutelage, with the aim of establishing social peace.
