The study aimed to characterize scientific publications in Medical and Health Sciences by authors affiliated with Paraguayan universities during the period 2014-2024, using a quantitative, descriptive approach, a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, and the Web of Science database as a source. The results revealed that publications in this field represented 52.3% of the total documents with at least one author affiliated with a Paraguayan university, showing an upward trend throughout the period. The most frequent type of document was the scientific article, with approximately 59%, and the English language predominated in approximately 91% of publications. Open access represented a significant share, around 48%, while collaboration between authors constituted the main form of work, present in approximately 99% of documents, in addition to international collaboration in approximately 77% of publications. In terms of citations, it was observed that most documents accumulated few or no citations, while a small group had a high number of them. These findings provide insight into the characteristics and dynamics of scientific production in the field of Medical and Health Sciences.
