SANCHEZ-BOBADILLA, Fabiola; FERNANDEZ, Analía  y  NUNEZ, Chiara. Heritage sites in the historic center of Asunción and their conditions for the development of accessible tourism, 2024. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2025, vol.12, n.3, pp.22-35. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2025.012.03.022.

The objective of this research is to analyze the heritage sites of the Historic Center of Asunción (CHA), and their conditions for the development of accessible tourism. This research was based on a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive approach, taking 7 (seven) heritage sites of the Historic Center for convenience as the study sample. For data collection, a form was prepared, based on the Manual of Good Practices for Accessible Tourism in Paraguay of the National Secretariat of Tourism (SENATUR), consisting of four (4) dimensions of analysis: D1: Accessibility applied to the physical environment; D2: Accessibility in communication and information; D3: Personal and corporate attitudes towards the traveler and D4: Education and Training of staff. The results showed compliance in Dimension 1 of 37.62%, Dimension 2 of 9.52%, Dimension 3 of 100%, and Dimension 4 of 40%. D3 was the highest and D2 the lowest. It was found that there are significant areas for improvement, particularly in accessibility for communication and information, as well as in the training of personnel who contribute to the advancement of accessible tourism development. Therefore, it is concluded that the implementation of the Manual of Good Practices for Accessible Tourism is necessary to raise the level of compliance with the variables studied and ensure effective accessibility for all people to these heritage sites.
