Access to information is crucial for informed decision-making and citizen participation in public affairs. The main objective of the article is to analyze the challenges faced by Peru in democratic access to information. A documentary review and content analysis were carried out, using the Scopus, Scielo, Redalyc and Dialnet databases. 18 documents were identified for review and two fundamental categories were identified in the study: a) Legal and political framework for access to information in the Peruvian State and b) Challenges and challenges in access to information in Peru. It was concluded that there are important advances in the legal and political framework in the country, but also challenges and pending challenges in this area.
