It is common for sudden weakness in the left side of the body, especially in elderly patients and those with cardiovascular risk factors, to be caused by a stroke.
We present the case of a 79-year-old woman who consulted for sudden weakness in the left side of her body. Physical examination revealed quadriparesis predominantly affecting the left limbs, with hypotonia and hyporeflexia. After relevant tests, Guillain-Barré syndrome was confirmed, which improved with human immunoglobulin infusions.
