Abstract

Objective: To describe the level of satisfaction and characteristics. Introduction: Inguinal hernioplasty is a technique performed by surgeons, which over time presents improvements in the technique and materials used in order to improve the patient's quality of life. Patients and methods: 43 patients who underwent inguinal hernia repair using the Trans-abdomino-preperitoneal (TAPP) technique at the First Chair of Clinical Surgery Service during the period 2016 to 2024. Retrospective, descriptive and cross-sectional study that aims to describe the experience using the Trans-abdomino-preperitoneal (TAPP) technique in inguinal hernia repair at the First Chair of Clinical Surgery Service in the period 2016-2024. Results: 79% were male, aged between 29 and 39 years in 44.2%, the majority presented a left inguinal hernia in 46.5%, indirect type in 62.8%. Conclusion: The low rates of postoperative complications and the relatively short recovery time are strong aspects that support the efficacy and safety of the TAPP technique in inguinal hernia repair in this clinical setting.
