This article presents a bibliometric analysis of academic production related to circular economy in the construction sector in the Southern Cone countries, aiming to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in regional research. A total of 175 academic works-including journal articles, undergraduate and graduate theses-published between 2004 and 2024 were collected and analysed using sources such as Google Scholar and institutional repositories. The documents were classified according to country of origin, academic institution, research topics addressed, and keywords used. The results reveal a clear concentration of studies in Brazil and Chile, reflecting the relationship between investment in scientific infrastructure and progress in this research area. Most studies focus on material reuse and efficient resource management; however, limited practical implementation and low international visibility persist, as many publications are not found in indexed journals. In contrast, Paraguay and Uruguay show limited academic output, indicating structural challenges and a lack of institutional coordination. The study concludes that it is necessary to strengthen regional collaboration networks, promote public policies that encourage applied research, and expand the dissemination of scientific advancements through broader platforms. This research provides an updated overview of academic development on circular economy in the construction sector in the Southern Cone and serves as a valuable foundation to guide future investigations and regional integration strategies.
