VILLAGRA, Mirtha; NOCEDA, Faustina e MAZUREK, Carla. Gaps and Convergences in Soft Skills Development: An Analysis between University Teachers and Students. Poblac.Desarro. [online]. 2025, vol.31, n.61, pp.40-51. ISSN 2076-0531. https://doi.org/10.18004/pdfce/2076-054x/2025.031.61.040.
This study analyses faculty and student perceptions regarding soft skills development in higher education institutions in Paraguay. Surveys conducted with 20 faculty and 304 students identified strengths and gaps in soft skills development. Faculty reported high levels of leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence. Students, on the other hand, prioritized teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking, with medium-high development. The contrast shows similarities, but also gaps, in participatory leadership, critical thinking, and networking. It is concluded that it is necessary to strengthen teacher training, redesign curricula, and promote collaborative spaces to enhance soft skills, thus contributing to the employability and professional adaptation of future graduates.
