RAMIREZ-DUARTE, Richar Joel et al. Evolution of the consumer price index and the unemployment rates of Paraguay in the period 2008-2018. Poblac.Desarro. [online]. 2020, vol.26, n.50, pp.42-52. ISSN 2076-0531.  https://doi.org/10.18004/pdfce/2076-054x/2020.026.50.042-052.

The present investigation seeks to analyze the evolution of the unemployment rate and the consumer price index in Paraguay during the period 2008 - 2018.That is why the fundamental purpose of this research is to visualize the causes and effects that generated the respective variations in these indicators. The approach used by the research was documentary from various official sources, such as: General Directorate for Statistics, Surveys and Census (DGEEG for its Spanish abbreviation) and Statistical Bulletins of the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP), among others, which served as base to realize proper calculations. Among the main results obtained it should be noted that the large variations that occur each year have a common factor, the climate, for being the Paraguay a country characterized by the predominance of the agriculture and livestock sectors. Finally, is highlighted, on the one hand, the importance of politics to encourage investment to reduce the breach between the preparation of the young people in terms of training and what the companies need; and on the other hand, the influence of the general level of prices in the determination of the inflationary process.

Palavras-chave : prices; inflation; unemployment; evolution; Paraguay.
