The proliferation of placental tissue causes a set of related diseases, all included in the term seasonal trophoblastic disease (STD). Lesions include: hydatidiform mole (complete and partial), invasive mole, choriocarcinoma, trophoblastic tumor of the placental site, and epithelioid trophoblastic tumor. This report describes a case of invasive mole diagnosed after a manual endouterine aspiration procedure, which was detected by increasing serum levels of quantitative BCHG in its controls. Therefore, the importance of follow-up with serial controls of quantitative BCHG blood is demonstrated, for an opportune diagnosis and treatment.
