Introduction:

the evaluation of the perception of the users of health systems is a procedure that should be routine because it allows improvements to be implemented.

Objective:

to determine the satisfaction of pregnant women undergoing perinatal ultrasound.

Methodology:

we applied an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional design. A telematic survey was applied to pregnant women who were invited to attend the practices of students of a master's degree in perinatology developed in a private university of Asuncion in 2024. After informed consent, sociodemographic variables and satisfaction were measured with a 14-question questionnaire covering 4 dimensions: health personnel, equipment, premises and services offered. The principles of research ethics were respected.

Results:

the survey was answered by 68 pregnant women, with a mean age of 28 ± 8 years. The positive indicators were respect for privacy (97%), clean and well-groomed appearance of the health personnel (94%), and pleasant and friendly treatment by the health personnel (82%). On the other hand, the most important negative indicators were the lack of kindness in offering food and drink (16%) and inadequate reporting of the results to family members (5.8%).

Conclusion:

the results of this exploratory study highlight several tangible positive aspects of the pregnant women's perception of perinatal ultrasound examinations. It is recommended
