ACADEMO Revista de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, is an open access journal. Its mission is to disseminate research results in the area of ​​social sciences and humanities of the national and international scientific community.

Objectives and scope

ACADEMO specializes in Social Sciences and Humanities, sponsored and edited by the Universidad Americana. It welcomes contributions from the national and international scientific community. The journal is an online, peer-reviewed publication. Since 2025, it has implemented a continuous article publication system, maintaining its quarterly frequency, with one volume and three issues published annually.

The journal is aimed at professionals and researchers in the branches of Philosophy, History, Sociology, Psychology, Political Sciences, Communication Sciences, Education, Business, Law and Information Sciences. It receives original articles and unpublished research products, as well as is open to receiving other significant original contributions for the specific area of ​​the journal such as articles of analysis, and review.

ACADEMO, emerges exclusively in electronic format in December 2014 with the publication of its first issue. Since its, it has been open access, fully funded by the Universidad Americana. Starting in 2015, it published two issues per year, transitioning to a quarterly frequency in 2024. In line with open science, since 2025 it adheres to the continuous publication system and accepts pre-published or preprinted articles on servers with that methodology. It also includes the report of each peer reviewer and requires a data availability statement for research articles (original articles). Articles publishing clinical trial results must be accompanied by the corresponding registry

Requirement of originality

The article submitted for publication, original and unpublished, must not be submitted in any other journal while the editorial process lasts. Each postulated article must be accompanied by a letter signed by the authors stating the main contribution of the work and the non-application to another journal.
