La prevalencia del dengue en embarazadas es aún un dato que se desconoce a nivel mundial.  Objetivo:  Describir las Características Clínicas y Epidemiológicas de Gestantes con Dengue internadas en el Servicio de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital Central del Instituto de Previsión Social de enero a junio del año 2018  Materiales y Métodos:  Estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal. Muestreo no probabilístico de casos consecutivos. Fueron incluidos todas las gestantes con dengue que acudieron al servicio de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital Central del Instituto de Previsión Social durante los meses de enero a junio de 2018. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante una planilla electrónica de Microsoft Office Excel 2016 ©  Resultados:  Ingresaron al estudio 44 gestantes con dengue. La mediana de edad fue de 27 años, el percentil 25 fue de 25 años y el percentil 75 fue de 32 años; el (59%) de las gestantes estaba en unión libre; el (56%) trabajaban como empleadas; el (61%) provenían de zonas urbanas; la mediana de edad gestacional fue de 33 semanas, la mayoría eran nulíparas. El (66%) negaba tener alguna enfermedad concomitante; el motivo de consulta más frecuente fue la fiebre; el (77%) tuvo dengue sin signos de alarma y el tratamiento instaurado con más frecuencia fue el conservador sin requerimiento de medidas quirúrgicas.  Conclusión:  Las gestantes que fueron diagnosticadas con dengue presentaron síntomas clásicos, sin complicaciones en la mayoría de los casos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction:  Dengue is one of the viral infections transmitted by mosquitoes more frequent in the world, it is estimated that every year 4 out of 10 people are at risk of suffering from this disease, of which 25% will develop the disease. The prevalence of dengue in pregnant women is still a fact that is unknown worldwide.  Objective:  To describe the Clinical and Epidemiological Characteristics of Dengue in Pregnant Women hospitalized in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service of the Central Hospital of the Social Security Institute from January to June 2018  Materials and Methods:  Cross-sectional descriptive observational study. Non-probabilistic sampling of consecutive cases All pregnant patients with dengue who attended the gynecology and obstetrics service of the Central Hospital of the Social Security Institute during the months of January to June 2018 were included. The data collection was done through an electronic spreadsheet of Microsoft Office Excel 2016 ©  Results:  44 pregnant women with dengue entered the study. The median age was 27 years, the 25th percentile was 25 years and the 75th percentile was 32 years; (59%) of the pregnant women were in free union; (56%) worked as employees; the (61%) came from urban areas; median gestational age was 33 weeks, most were nulliparous. The (66%) denied having any concomitant disease; the most frequent reason for consultation was fever; the (77%) had dengue without warning signs and the most frequently established treatment was conservative without requiring surgical measures.  Conclusion:  Pregnant women who were diagnosed with dengue presented classic symptoms, without complications in most cases.]]></p></abstract>
