Además, el difícil diagnóstico y los criterios de laboratorio no establecidos, contribuyen al infra diagnóstico de la condición. El tratamiento temprano previene la pérdida auditiva irreversible, el tratamiento inicial es a base de esteroides, los cuales tienen un impacto en la mejoría de la audición. La enfermedad autoinmune del oído es más común en mujeres que en hombres, la edad inicial de presentación suele ser entre 20 y 50 años Se presenta el caso clínico de una mujer de 45 años con sintomatología de cefalea crónica más pérdida de la audición con presencia de anticuerpos anti cocleares positivos anti HPS 70 con una respuesta adecuada a la inmunosupresión.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Autoimmune inner ear disease is a rare clinical entity with incidence rates of between five and twenty cases per hundred thousand inhabitants/yearand characterized by bilateral hea ring loss with vestibular manifestations and clinical signs of autoimmune pathology. In addi tion, difficult diagnosis and unestablished laboratory criteria contribute to the underdiagnosis of the condition. Early treatment prevents irreversible hearing loss; initial treatment is with steroids, which have an impact on hearing improvement. Autoimmune ear disease is more common in women than in men, the initial age of presentation is usually between 20 and 50 years. We present the clinical case of a 45 year old woman with symptoms of chronic headache plus hearing loss with the presence of positive anti cochlear antibodies anti HPS 70 with an adequate response to immunosuppression.]]></p></abstract>
