El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar la seroprevalencia de la Neosporosis en vacas lecheras y su efecto sobre el intervalo entre partos, la misma se llevó a cabo en los distritos de San Lorenzo, Ñemby y Nueva Italia del Departamento Central durante el año 2018. Se seleccionaron 87 animales a los que se extrajo muestras de sangre de la vena coccígea media, los cuales se depositaron en tubos de ensayo sin anticoagulante para su posterior centrifugado, el suero obtenido de cada muestra en tubos de microcentrífuga, fueron remitidos refrigerados al Laboratorio de SENACSA, donde fueron estudiados mediante el método de ELISA indirecto para el diagnóstico, encontrándose los siguientes resultados: el 41,4% (36 muestras) resultaron positivas. En la evaluación del intervalo entre partos se encontró que existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa (p=0,01) entre los animales seropositivos con un promedio (±DE) de 546 días (±153) y los seronegativos con un promedio (±DE) de 463 días (±119). En todos los establecimientos muestreados se registraron un total de 13 abortos, de los cuales 10 animales fueron seropositivos a Neospora caninum.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT.  The objective of this research was to evaluate the seroprevalence of Neosporosis in dairy cows and its effect on the interval between births, the same was carried out in the districts of San Lorenzo, Ñemby and Nueva Italia of the Central Department during the year 2018. There were selected 87 animals to wich blood samples were taken from the medial coccygeal vein, which were deposited in test tubes without anticoagulant for subsequent centrifugation, the serum obtained from each sample in microcentrifuge tubes, were sent refrigerated to the SENACSA &#8203;&#8203;Laboratory, where they were studied using the indirect ELISA method for diagnosis, finding the following results: 41.4% (36 samples) were positive. In the evaluation of the interval between births it was found that there is a statistically significant difference (p = 0.01) between the seropositive animals with an average (± SD) of 546 days (± 153) and the seronegative with an average (± SD) of 463 days (± 119). In all the sampled establishments, a total of 13 abortions were registered, of which 10 animals were seropositive to Neospora caninum.]]></p></abstract>
