IN POS OF A CULTURE OF SCIENTIFIC PUBLISHING
Desde sus inicios la Revista COMPENDIO DE CIENCIAS VETERINARIAS se ha constituido en un referente de divulgación de la producción científica de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción, tal como refiere la Misión de la Revista: "La difusión de los trabajos de investigación científica y tecnológica del área de las Ciencias Veterinarias, e informaciones anexas, realizadas en el marco del respeto al ambiente y al bienestar animal"
Los años recorridos ha permitido ganar, objetivamente, solvencia en las publicaciones gracias al denuedo de los investigadores nacionales y extranjeros, acompañados por las Autoridades y los Técnicos del Departamento de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica de la Institución, conscientes de que toda investigación científica debe culminar en una publicación y sumar los conocimientos a las áreas de esta noble ciencia. Tales esfuerzos han permitido que la Revista esté indexada al Sistema Regional de Información en Línea para Revistas Científicas de América Latina, el Caribe, España y Portugal - LATINDEX y SciELO Paraguay. Estos compromisos obligan a seguir elevando la calidad y cantidad de publicaciones marcando presencia a nivel nacional e internacional; a pesar de la titánica, pero apasionante tarea, de ofrecer los mejores artículos y actualidades en el área de las ciencias veterinarias y afines. Los investigadores nacionales, más aún en nuestro medio, denotan limitaciones técnicas investigativas que accionan en detrimento del impacto de las publicaciones. Esto no es casualidad pues existe una base cultural exigua de escritura y divulgación de artículos científicos, escasa formación en el arte de la edición y gestión de una revista científica y finalmente el hecho de que los investigadores se encuentran muy centrados en actividades académicas en desmedro de las publicaciones de sus investigaciones, todo lo cual hace que cada edición de la revista se convierta en un desafío periódico.
El rigor, la visibilidad, la regularidad en el tiempo, entre otros, hacen que una revista genere impacto en el ámbito científico y para lograrlo cada número conlleva y compromete mucha dedicación. Todo con la finalidad de dar respuestas a una sociedad cada vez más dependiente de la ciencia y la tecnología, pero sobre todo propender a la integración investigación - docencia porque no siempre un buen investigador es buen docente y vice-versa.
Las revistas científicas tienen su manto de probidad y legitimidad pero a su sombra hay necesidades reclamadas, con justa razón, por los científicos que están en la búsqueda de la verdad y el conocimiento, resultados e ideas que se traducen en artículos científicos.
Un agradecimiento a cada uno de los autores por las contribuciones que han hecho posible el lanzamiento de la revista, así como al equipo editorial y a los directivos de la Institución.
From its beginnings the COMPENDIO DE CIENCIAS VETERINARIAS has become a reference for the dissemination of scientific production of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the National University of Asuncion as the Mission of the Magazine refers: "The dissemination of scientific and technological research in the area of Veterinary Science and related information, carried out within the framework of respect for the environment and animal welfare"
Throughout the years, it has been possible to gain solvency in publications thanks to the courage of national and foreign researchers, accompanied by the Authorities and Technicians of the Department of Scientific and Technological Research of the Institution, aware that all scientific research must culminate in A publication and add knowledge to the areas of this noble science. Such efforts have allowed the Journal to be indexed to the Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal - LATINDEX and SciELO Paraguay.
]]> These commitments oblige us to continue to raise the quality and quantity of publications by making a presence at national and international levels; despite the titanic but exciting task of offering the best articles and news in the area of veterinary and related sciences. National researchers, even more so in our country, denote limitations in investigative techniques that act to the detriment of the impact of publications. This is no accident because there is a limited cultural basis of writing and dissemination of scientific articles, little training in the art of editing and management of a scientific journal and finally the fact that researchers are very focused on academic activities at the expense of The publications of their investigations, all of which makes each edition of the magazine become a periodic challenge.The rigor, the visibility, the regularity in the time, among others, make that a magazine generates impact in the scientific field and to obtain it each number carries and it commits a lot of dedication. All in order to give answers to a society increasingly dependent on science and technology, but above all to tend to integration-research-teaching; because not always a good researcher is a good teacher and vice versa.
Scientific journals have a mantle of probity and legitimacy but in their shadow there are needs that are rightly demanded by scientists who are searching for the truth and knowledge, results and ideas that translate into scientific articles.
