El plasma rico en plaquetas (PRP) es un prometedor producto biológico autólogo ampliamente utilizado en medicina estética. Su aplicación para el rejuvenecimiento facial, la alopecia y la remodelación de cicatrices ha mostrado resultados variables en estudios clínicos. Objetivo. Evaluar la eficacia y seguridad del PRP en procedimientos estéticos no quirúrgicos con base en la evidencia de ensayos clínicos. Materiales y Métodos. Se realizó una revisión sistemática y un metanálisis siguiendo las directrices PRISMA. Se buscaron estudios publicados entre 2014 y 2025 en cinco bases de datos. Se incluyeron ensayos controlados aleatorizados (ECA) que evaluaron el PRP en pacientes adultos sometidos a tratamientos estéticos no quirúrgicos. El riesgo de sesgo se evaluó mediante Cochrane RoB 2.0 y los datos se sintetizaron mediante modelos de efectos fijos cuando la heterogeneidad fue baja. Resultados. Cuatro ECA cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. El PRP demostró una mejora estadísticamente significativa en la densidad capilar (diferencia media: 26,4 ± 6,2 unidades/cm²) y una mejora subjetiva de la textura facial de hasta un 35%. La diferencia de medias estandarizada (DME) agrupada fue de 1,17 (IC del 95%: 0,51-1,84; p &lt; 0,001). No se reportaron eventos adversos graves. Conclusión. El PRP es una opción eficaz y segura para el tratamiento de la alopecia androgenética y el rejuvenecimiento facial en medicina estética no quirúrgica. Se justifica la estandarización de protocolos y estudios de seguimiento a largo plazo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Introduction. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a promising autologous biological product widely used in aesthetic medicine. Its application for facial rejuvenation, alopecia, and scar remodeling has shown variable outcomes in clinical studies. Objective. To assess the effectiveness and safety of PRP in non-surgical aesthetic procedures based on clinical trial evidence. Materials and Methods. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Five databases were searched for studies published between 2014 and 2025. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating PRP in adult patients undergoing non-surgical aesthetic treatments were included. Risk of bias was assessed using Cochrane RoB 2.0, and data were synthesized using fixed-effects models when heterogeneity was low. Results. Four RCTs met inclusion criteria. PRP demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in hair density (mean difference: 26.4 ± 6.2 units/cm²) and subjective facial texture improvement up to 35%. The pooled standardized mean difference (SMD) was 1.17 (95% CI: 0.51&#8211;1.84; p &lt; 0.001). No serious adverse events were reported. Conclusion. PRP is an effective and safe option for treating androgenetic alopecia and facial rejuvenation in non-surgical aesthetic medicine. Standardization of protocols and long-term follow-up studies are warranted.]]></p></abstract>
