El objetivo es presentar una revisión narrativa sobre los aspectos relacionados con el abordaje fisiopatológico, diagnósticos y terapéutico en el paciente traumatizado con lesión renal aguda. Revisión narrativa de artículos relevantes y destacados en el área del manejo del paciente traumatizado con lesión renal aguda, de diferentes bases de datos como PubMed, Science Direct, Embase, EBSCO y MEDLINE . Los mecanismos fisiopatológicos que conducen al paciente traumatizado a generar lesión renal aguda han sido ampliamente descritos, asociados principalmente a procesos derivados del mismo traumatismo con compromiso hematológico, inmune, osteomuscular entre otros. Se debe entonces realizar un abordaje inicial desde la medicina traslacional para instaurar acciones terapéuticas óptimas. Un abordaje óptimo en el paciente traumatizado con compromiso renal agudo, puede mejorar de manera significativa su pronóstico como las complicaciones asociadas a un detrimento de la función renal y demás secuelas asociadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Trauma is considered one of the leading causes of mortality globally, among the complications most frequently associated with trauma is acute kidney injury triggered by hemorrhage, rhabdomyolysis, inflammation, infections or metabolic response to the surgical process. The objective is to present a narrative review on aspects related to the pathophysiological, diagnostic and therapeutic approach in trauma patients with acute kidney injury. Methods: Narrative review of relevant and outstanding articles in the area of management of the trauma patient with acute kidney injury, from different databases such as PubMed, Science Direct, Embase, EBSCO and MEDLINE. The pathophysiological mechanisms that lead the trauma patient to generate acute kidney injury have been widely described, mainly associated with processes derived from the same trauma with hematological, immune, musculoskeletal and other compromises. An initial approach should then be made from translational medicine to establish optimal therapeutic actions. An optimal approach in trauma patients with acute renal compromise can significantly improve their prognosis, as well as the complications associated with a detriment of renal function and other associated sequelae.]]></p></abstract>
