La Bioseguridad hoy ha cobrado tal importancia que no solo es practicada por personal sanitario, en odontología las universidades incorporan en la formación actual sólo como unidades de aprendizaje hasta donde conocemos ninguna como materia siendo que podría ser la profesión con mayor riesgo de poder contraer la enfermedad. Este artículo se concentró en la revisión de la literatura en bases de datos sobre 4 medidas clave.  Desarrollo:  En base a 3 estudios realizados en distintos países de América en estudiantes y profesionales de odontología se verificó que: 1) respecto al lavado de manos un 33 y 10 % respectivamente lo cumplen correcta y en el número de veces adecuado así como después de la atención de paciente; 2) en esterilización se tomó estudios de otros países que reflejan que 66.5% (bajo) es el resultado de su eficacia, en otro que más del 50% de los dentistas no realizan control biológico de equipos de esterilización y en cuanto a la desinfección se demuestra que al menos 30% de los microorganismos que quedan sin limpiar en distintas partes son patógenos peligrosos; 3) eliminación de residuos un estudio muestra que más del 90% de los estudiantes universitarios no tiene conocimiento correcto y otro estudio valida que el 40% no desecha los elementos punzocortantes de forma adecuada 4) en relación a las vacunas de la Hepatitis B como la más frecuente necesaria en la práctica dental se verifica que el 59% no contaba con el esquema completo , otro estudio verificó que del 100% de los accidentes un 45 % se produce por pinchazos involuntarios mientras que otro indica que los estudiantes no conocen la importancia de contar con esta defensa inmune extra.  Conclusión: Existirán modificaciones en bioseguridad dental después de la COVID-19 algunas aún en construcción verificadas por organismos del área a nivel mundial como CDC, ADA etc. para ser socializadas en todos los países en consulta privada, estatal y en las universidades.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT   Introduction: COVID -19 is recognized as a pandemic, in general we can affirm that it is the infection of the 21st century that has achieved the most health emergency and mourning. Biosafety today has become so important that it is not only practiced by health personnel, in dentistry universities incorporate into current training only as learning units as far as we know none as a subject being that it could be the profession with the highest risk of contracting the disease. This article focused on a review of the literature in databases on 4 key measures.  Development:  Based on 3 studies carried out in different countries of America in dental students and professionals, it was verified that: 1) 33% and 10% respectively comply with hand washing correctly and in the appropriate number of times, as well as after care of patient; 2) in sterilization studies were taken from other countries that show that 66.5% (low) is the result of its effectiveness, in another that more than 50% of dentists do not perform biological control of sterilization equipment and regarding disinfection shows that at least 30% of microorganisms left uncleaned in different places are dangerous pathogens; 3) waste disposal a study shows that more than 90% of university students do not have correct knowledge and another study validates that 40% do not dispose of sharps properly 4) in relation to Hepatitis B vaccines such as more frequent necessary in dental practice, it is verified that 59% did not have the complete scheme, another study verified that of 100% of the accidents, 45% are caused by involuntary punctures while another indicates that the students do not know the importance of count on this extra immune defense.  Conclusion:  Will be modifications in dental biosafety after COVID-19, some still under construction, verified by organizations in the area worldwide such as CDC, ADA etc. to be socialized in all countries in private, state consultation and in universities.]]></p></abstract>
