Metodología: Estudio observacional, descriptivo, retrospectivo; mediante encuestas, revisión de fichas operatorias y registros médicos. El período de tiempo estudiado abarca los primeros catorce meses desde la implementación de la técnica en el Paraguay, de Junio 2024 a Julio 2025. Se registraron el número de intervenciones quirúrgicas, además de las variables edad, sexo, diagnóstico, estancia hospitalaria y complicaciones según escala de Clavien-Dindo. El grado de satisfacción fue registrado mediante encuestas anónimas de selección múltiple. La percepción del resultado estético postoperatorio fue medida con una escala visual análoga. Resultados: 38 cirugías sin huellas realizadas de Junio 2024 a Julio 2025, en Paraguay. Edad promedio: 43 años. 63% fueron del sexo femenino. El diagnóstico más común fue la colecistopatía, y el procedimiento más realizado, entre varios otros por esta técnica, fue la colecistectomía (66%). El tiempo de estancia hospitalaria promedio fue menor a 24hs. Hubo 3 casos de infección superficial del sitio quirúrgico y 2 casos de omalgia (Clavien-Dindo I). Se pudo completar la cirugía sin huellas de la forma programada en el 97% de los casos, hubo un solo caso de conversión. Se registró un alto grado de satisfacción. 93% de los pacientes catalogaron su experiencia general como "Excelente"(5/5). La totalidad de los pacientes respondieron que en caso de requerir una nueva cirugía, optarían por el método sin huellas, y así también el 100% la recomendaría. En cuanto a la percepción del resultado estético, el 90% de los pacientes refirió encontrarse "Muy Satisfecho" (5/5). Conclusión: La cirugía sin huellas asistida por imanes es una técnica segura, factible y altamente valorada por los pacientes en Paraguay. La elevada satisfacción estética, la baja tasa de complicaciones y la aplicabilidad demostrada en múltiples procedimientos la posicionan como una alternativa sólida dentro de la cirugía mínimamente invasiva.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the level of satisfaction and characteristics of the patient population undergoing magnet-assisted single-incision surgery in Paraguay. Methodology: A retrospective, descriptive, observational study was conducted using surveys and a review of surgical records and medical records. The study period covers the first fourteen months since the technique's implementation in Paraguay, from June 2024 to July 2025. The number of surgical interventions was recorded, along with variables such as age, sex, diagnosis, hospital stay, and complications according to the Clavien-Dindo scale. The degree of satisfaction was recorded through anonymous multiple-choice surveys. The perception of the postoperative aesthetic result was measured using a visual analog scale. Results: 38 magnet-assisted single-incision surgeries were performed from June 2024 to July 2025 in Paraguay. Average age: 43 years. 63% were female. The most common diagnosis was gallbladder disease, and the most frequently performed procedure, among several others using this technique, was cholecystectomy (66%). The average hospital stay was less than 24 hours. There were 3 cases of superficial surgical site infection and 2 cases of shoulder pain (Clavien-Dindo I). Magnet-assisted single-incision surgery was completed as scheduled in 97% of cases; there was only one case of conversion. A high level of satisfaction was recorded. 93% of patients rated their overall experience as "Excellent" (5/5). All patients responded that if they required another surgery, they would opt for the same method, and 100% would recommend it. Regarding the perception of the postoperative aesthetic result, 90% of patients reported being "Very Satisfied" (5/5). Conclusion: Magnet-assisted single-incision surgery is a safe, feasible, and highly valued technique by patients in Paraguay. The high aesthetic satisfaction, low complication rate, and proven applicability across multiple procedures position it as a solid alternative within minimally invasive surgery.]]></p></abstract>
