Objetivo: Determinar los beneficios de la colecistectomía temprana en pacientes con colecistitis aguda litiásica en el Hospital Central de las Fuerzas Armadas. Período marzo 2019 - abril 2021. Metodología: Es un estudio observacional descriptivo, de corte transversal, temporalmente retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 99 pacientes con diagnóstico de colecistitis aguda litiásica atendidos durante el período 2019 -2021 en el Hospital Militar Central de las Fuerzas Armadas. Resultados: En relación con los factores de riesgo, el más frecuente fue haber tenido un episodio previo de colecistitis aguda en un 34,3% siendo menos frecuentes la obesidad y el antecedente de cirugía previa. Según el método de colecistectomía se fue mayor la convencional en un 57%. Con respecto al tiempo de espera se registró mayor porcentaje en colecistectomía tempranas con un 69%. Evaluando las complicaciones se observó que 33 pacientes tuvieron complicaciones, De ellas. 9 fueron en el periodo per operatorio y 24 en el post operatorio. Conclusiones: Los factores de riesgo más frecuentes fueron antecedentes previos de colecistitis aguda, obesidad y cirugía previa. Los procedimientos quirúrgicos se agruparon tempranos y tardíos y no se encontró diferencia en cuanto al tiempo operatorio de cirugía convencional y cirugía laparoscópica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY Introduction: There is still controversy regarding the waiting time for the surgical management of acute cholecystitis, taking into account the surgical risks and the frequency of complications mainly. Objective: To determine the benefits of early cholecystectomy in patients with acute stone cholecystitis at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces. Period March 2019 - April 2021. Methodology: It is a descriptive observational study, cross-sectional, temporally retrospective. The sample consisted of 99 patients diagnosed with acute lithiasic cholecystitis treated during the period 2019-2021 at the Central Military Hospital of the Armed Forces. Results: In relation to the risk factors, the most frequent was having had a previous episode of acute cholecystitis in 34.3%, with obesity and a history of previous surgery being less frequent. According to the cholecystectomy method, the conventional one was higher by 57%. Regarding the waiting time, a higher percentage was recorded in early cholecystectomy with 69%. Evaluating the complications, it was observed that 33 patients had complications, of which. 9 were in the per-operative period and 24 in the post-operative period. Conclusions: The most frequent risk factors were previous history of acute cholecystitis, obesity and previous surgery. The surgical procedures were grouped early and late and no difference was found in terms of the operative time of conventional surgery and laparoscopic surgery.]]></p></abstract>
