Materiales y Métodos: se estudiaron 317 casos de pacientes sometidos a colecistectomía videolaparoscópica en la 1ra Cátedra de Clínica Quirúrgica del Hospital de Clínicas desde enero a octubre del año 2021, trabajo observacional, descriptivo de corte transversal, temporalmente retrospectivo. Muestreo no probabilístico de casos consecutivos. Resultados: Nuestra tasa de conversión es del 2,2% (7 pacientes), la principal causa fue la falta de identificación de las estructuras del triángulo de Calot por adherencias firmes a este nivel. La cirugía realizada fue colecistectomía subtotal reconstitutiva en 4 casos 57,14% y colecistectomía total en 3 casos. El diagnostico principal fue colecistitis aguda calculosa gangrenosa. La duración media de la cirugía en estos pacientes fue de 162,14 +/- 41,01 minutos. El tiempo de internación promedio fue de 3,5 +/- 1,91 días. No encontramos complicaciones postoperatorias a los 30 días de seguimiento de los pacientes por consultorio. Conclusión: Los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo coinciden con la literatura internacional y es similar a la tasa de conversion obtenida por cirujanos con experiencia en cirugía mínimamente invasiva.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY Objective Determine the prevalence of conversion of videolaparoscopic cholecystectomies in the Hospital de Clínicas during the year 2021. Materials and Methods 317 cases of patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the Sala X, Hospital de Clinicas, from January to October 2021. Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, temporally retrospective study. Non-probability sampling of consecutive cases. Results Our conversion rate is 2.2% (7 patients), the main cause was the lack of identification of the structures of the Calot's triangle due to firm adhesions. The surgery performed was reconstituting subtotal cholecystectomy in 4 cases (57.14%) and total cholecystectomy in 3 cases. The main diagnosis was gangrenous acute cholecystitis. The mean duration of surgery in these patients was 162.14 +/- 41.01 minutes. The average length of stay was 3.5 +/- 1.91 days. We did not find postoperative complications after 30 days of follow-up. Conclusion The results obtained in this work are similar to the conversion rate obtained by surgeons with experience in the international literature.]]></p></abstract>
