Mediante este trabajo se aporta información sobre la riqueza, composición y la estructura trófica de las aves que habitan en los humedales del departamento de Ñeembucú. Para el registro de las especies se realizaron ocho campañas de muestreo de una semana de duración, en los meses de octubre y diciembre de 2020, y de febrero a julio de 2021, a través de puntos de conteo, observadas durante las primeras horas del día y al atardecer. El análisis de la estructura trófica de las especies se basó según su recurso alimenticio en carnívoro, carroñero, frugívoro, insectívoro, nectarívoro, semillero y omnívoro. Se registraron 227 especies correspondientes a 182 géneros, 54 familias y 26 órdenes. Las especies clasificadas en semilleras, nectarívoras y carroñeras resultaron ser exclusivas de un solo orden y familia mientras que las categorías carnívora, frugívora, insectívora y omnívora, fueron distribuidas en diferentes órdenes y familias. Esto denota el uso de los recursos asociados a la prestación de servicios ecosistémicos de regulación y soporte. Por tanto, la información generada es una herramienta para apoyar acciones de conservación en los humedales del departamento de Ñeembucú.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: Wetlands are one of the most productive ecosystems, since due to their ecological functions they provide multiple ecosystem services, and in which avifauna is one of the most abundant and studied vertebrates. This work provides information on the richness, composition and trophic structure of the birds that inhabit the wetlands of the department of Ñeembucú. To record the species, eight one-week sampling campaigns were car- ried out in the months of October and December 2020, and from February to July 2021, through counting points, observed during the first hours of the day and at dusk. The analysis of the trophic structure of the species was based on carnivore, scavenger, frugivore, insectivore, insectivore, nectarivore, seedeater and omnivore accord- ing to their food resource. A total of 227 species corresponding to 182 genera, 54 families and 26 orders were recorded. Species classified as seed-eating, nectarivorous and scavenging were found to be exclusive to a single order and family while the carnivorous, frugivorous, insectivorous and omnivorous categories were distributed in different orders and families. This denotes the use of resources associated with the provision of regulating and supporting ecosystem services. Therefore, the information generated is a tool to support conservation actions in the wetlands of the department of Ñeembucú.]]></p></abstract>
