If we recall the last editions of the Journal of Surgery of Paraguay, one can realize the constant growth of the surgical services of the country. On one hand with a respectable volume in frequent and infrequent pathologies, and on the other hand the performance of more complex surgeries following the global trends.

We must celebrate this moment, as it not only enhances the pride of those who perform it, but of all surge on scommitted to integral and continuous training, constantly pursuing the highest standards and with the aim of being able to offer a better Medicine to our population.

We must also be critical of the shortcomings that we may have, especially in public surgical services, and it is often the case that we must value the efforts of our doctors and our own patients to achieve a satisfactory result, which will be later a benefit in the training of our youg residents.

Never forget that to be a good doctor, you must be a good man first. Never forget that the patient comes tous to do what is humanly possible to heal them. Patients trust us.

Finally, it is in us, the surgeons, to continue on the right path, a path of continuous growth, to streng then concepts and educate the young and encourage them to continue to magnify Paraguayan surgery.
