EDITORIAL

La Editorial de EFACIM se encuentra atravesando por un periodo de renovación y sobre todo de actualización. Debido a esto es probable que este número llegue un poco tarde a manos de sus lectores, pero como todo cambio trae un nuevo impulso, confiamos en que este cambio será del agrado de todos.
Desde el próximo número, habrá un nuevo Editor en Jefe, a fin de darle mayor dinamismo al proceso editorial y por sobre todo, tratar de aumentar el número a 3 (tres) por año.
En la misma línea de pensamiento, se está impulsando el proceso de certificación de SciELO Paraguay, que actualmente se encuentra en etapa de evaluación, lo que permitirá una mayor visibilidad de la productividad científica a nivel internacional.
Este número trae interesantes artículos tales como:
"Resultados de las laringectomías conservadoras en el carcinoma de laringe", trabajo realizado por cirujanos adscriptos a la Cátedra de Otorrinolaringología;
"Detección de la mutación JAK2V617F en pacientes con sospecha clínica de neoplasia mieloproliferativa sin expresión leucémica. Estudio preliminar". En este trabajo se utilizó la técnica de ARMS-PCR en los Laboratorios de Hematopatología y Genética Molecular del Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias de la Salud, cuya conclusión resultó ser muy interesante;
"Primer caso registrado de hernia discal torácica operada en Paraguay. Dificultades y desafíos", trabajo realizado por neurocirujanos paraguayos por primera vez en nuestro país y con resultado satisfactorio, por citar los artículos más destacados.
Esperamos que en el próximo número podamos confirmar la certificación del sitio SciELO Paraguay, como producto del trabajo incansable de todos los actores involucrados.

The editorial EFACIM is going through a period of renewal and above all of updating. Due to this, this issue will reach the readers a little late but as any change brings new impetus, we are confident that this change will satisfy the readers.
From next issue, there will be a new Editor in Chief in order to bring more dynamism to the editorial process and above all to increase the number of issues per year to three (3).
In the same line of ideas, we are promoting the certification process of the SciELO Paraguay site, which is currently in evaluation, which will allow greater visibility of scientific production at international level.
This issue includes interesting articles such as:
"Results of conservative laryngectomy in laryngeal carcinoma" study carried out by surgeons of the Department of Otolaryngology;
"Detection of JAK2V617F mutation in patients with suspected myeloproliferative neoplasm without leukemic expression. A preliminary study". In this study the ARMS-PCR technique was used in the laboratories of Hematopathology and Molecular Genetics of the Research Institute in Health Sciences, which conclusions turned out to be very interesting;
"First recorded case of thoracic disc herniation operated in Paraguay. Difficulties and challenges", interesting work of Paraguayan neurosurgeons for the first time in our country and with satisfactory results, among the most relevant articles.
We hope that the certification of the SciELO Paraguay will be confirmed in the next issue, as a product of the tireless work of all stakeholders.
