The objective of the research is to determine the impact generated by the tourist activity in the local development of the municipality of Yaguarón from 2010 to 2020. It was studied from a mixed approach, cross-sectional and exploratory-descriptive scope. The population was made up of 3 local actors and 30 tourism service providers. For the data collection, the interview with local actors was used through a guide of (13) thirteen open questions through intentional sampling and, a structured questionnaire of (9) nine questions for the providers of tourist services in the locality through the sampling of simple random, in 2021. The results show that thanks to tourism the inhabitants have benefited with: income generation (40%), training (20%) and new jobs (15%). The implementation of projects for the revitalization of Cerro Yaguarón (25%) and the creation of tourist circuits (25%) are recognized as essential actions for this development. Therefore, it is concluded that work must still be done on various factors such as the environment, society, culture and the local economy in a timely manner to speak of a full development of said town.
