ABSTRACT

Climate Change is considered one of the most urgent challenges facing humanity at a global level, being a complex problem that implies unequal consequences. Increases and decreases in temperature are observed in many regions of the world. These climatic changes could significantly affect natural systems and human life in less developed countries. The main objective of this work was to analyze the historical trends of average air temperature (1960-2018) in Paraguay. To analyze the possible variations of the trend,

two non-parametric statistical tests (Sen and Mann-Kendall slope) were applied. The results show significant increases in the annual temperature in most of the weather stations analyzed with a confidence level of 99%.

Keywords : mean temperature; mean maximum temperature; mean minimum temperature; Mann-Kendall; Sen.
