DIAZ, Mariana Cáceres Ruiz  e  CORREA, Emilce Sena. Characterization of researchers in the area of Health Sciences, Animal Biology and Chemistry categorized in the PRONII. Period 2011-2016. Rev. Soc. cient. Parag. [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.2, pp.114-126. ISSN 2617-4731.  https://doi.org/10.32480/rscp.2021.26.2.114.

This study aimed to describe the demographic and categorization characteristics of the researchers in the Health Sciences, Animal Biology and Chemistry area categorized during the period 2011-2016 in the PRONII. For this, a study with a quantitative approach, descriptive scope, non-experimental and cross-sectional design was carried out. A total of 242 categorized researchers were characterized. It was observed that the largest proportion of the researchers were women, around 75%. Around half were concentrated between 30 to 44 years of age. Approximately 50% belonged to the initial level of categorization. About 66% were in the active category or associated with the year 2016. The results obtained indicate a visible presence of women, a significant proportion of researchers in age groups with high possibilities of future scientific productivity. In the categorization it stands out that around half belongs to the initial level of hierarchy.

Palavras-chave : categorized researchers; Health Sciences; PRONII.
