LANCHIPA-ALE, Teresa; MORENO-SALAZAR, Khiara y LUQUE-ZUNIGA, Bret. COVID-19 perspective on air pollution. Rev. Soc. cient. Parag. [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.2, pp.155-182. ISSN 2617-4731. https://doi.org/10.32480/rscp.2020.25.2.155.
The COVID-19 pandemic is causing concern around the world, since it was declared a global health emergency (WHO) on January 30, which brought about a change in the population's lifestyle, closure of transportation systems, paralysis of economic activities, reducing emissions of pollutants to the environment, causing the improvement of air quality in many cities worldwide. So far, several review studies focused on the environmental impacts of COVID-19 have been published, however, none specifically focus on air pollution. Therefore, the main objective was to present a review based on a comprehensive analysis of the published studies addressing theoretical implications used within the studies. 68 studies were analyzed, which were published in 17 journals until August 2020. In addition, possible future research in relation to the subject is addressed. Finally, the conclusions of this review are presented.
