Abstract

MAIDANA, Ever et al. Agronomic characteristics of corn inoculated with different doses of Azospirillum brasiliense. Rev. Soc. cient. Parag. [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.1, pp.49-57. ISSN 2617-4731.  https://doi.org/10.32480/rscp.2020-25-1.49-57.

In recent years, the use of inoculants in corn cultivation has been increasingly frequent and this is due to the benefits it can produce, such as the biological fixation of N and the increase in the number of roots. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the agronomic characteristics of corn under field conditions inoculated with different doses of Azospirillum brasilense. The design used was that of totally random blocks with six treatments and four repetitions. The treatments consisted of doses of 0; 0.5; one; 1.5; 2 and 2.5 L 100 kg seed of A. brasiliense. The evaluated variables were ear diameter, root weight, dry matter of theaerial part, weight of a thousand grains and yield. The variables studied responded linearly to the increase in the dose of A. brasiliense. The 2 L 100 kg seed dose produced an 80% increase in yield compared to the control.

Keywords : Zea mays; biological nitrogen fixation, diazotrophic bacteria.
