Abstract

The economics of education is an important aspect that should be known by all directors of educational institutions in general, and mainly private schools in Paraguay, since this science helps the efficient management of these institutions. The objective is to analyze the level of knowledge of the economics of education by directors of private schools in Paraguay in the year 2020. The design of the research was non-experimental cross-sectional, the data collection technique was the survey whose data collection instrument was the survey questionnaire with 10 closed questions, the non-probabilistic sample consisted of 410 directors of private schools in Paraguay with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the educational sector, the data collection was done with a Google form and the data was processed with Microsoft Excel 365 and SPSS version 26, the data was collected between February and October 2020. 66 % are not aware of the definition of monopoly rent and its direct relationship with private education in the country, 60 % do not have knowledge about the direct and indirect economic benefits of monopoly savings and its intrinsic relationship with the fixed cost, 38 % do not have knowledge about the educational organizational planning process and resource allocations. It is concluded that most of the directors of private schools surveyed do not correctly know the basic aspects of the economics of education.
