Abstract

OCHOA QUISPE, Flor Zarayn  and  BARRAGAN CONDORI, Melquíades. The excessive use of social networks amid the pandemic. Acad. (Asunción) [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.1, pp.85-92. ISSN 2414-8938.  https://doi.org/10.30545/academo.2022.ene-jun.8.

An analysis was made of the considerable increase in social networks when they were in confinement, therefore it was necessary to study two important aspects. The first was about the use that already existed before the pandemic arrived in different aspects of life, whether for leisure, work or study, followed by this compared with the considerable increase produced by the confinement of people, stress and the search of information. It was noted that one of the most frequent uses was to search for information regarding health issues and the pandemic, in many cases obtaining wrong information causing stress problems even for sick people. Many people began to opt for untrue information channels, which is why there was a notable increase in the use of social networks, even causing addiction to these channels.

Keywords : Pandemic; SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19); Social networks; Isolation; Excess.
