Abstract

BRICENO NUNEZ, Chess Emmanuel. Educational gamification as a strategy for teaching foreign languages. Acad. (Asunción) [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.1, pp.11-22. ISSN 2414-8938.  https://doi.org/10.30545/academo.2022.ene-jun.2.

This research presents a non-experimental cross-sectional study on educational gamification as a strategy for teaching foreign languages in virtual learning environments. The sample consisted of 100 active Ecuadorian teachers who teach foreign languages at the Bachillerato General Unificado level. To collect the information, a version of the Al-Issa (2009) test was used, containing 17 items presented on a Likert scale. The data were processed with the statistical program IBM SPSS. The results show how gamification positively influences the learning of foreign languages, since it has increased the level of student participation in solving training and evaluative activities associated with the content taught.
