Abstract

PAGLIALUNGA DE WATZLAWIK, María Viviana. The history of public university in the Department of Ñeembucú and its impact on the migratory processes. Acad. (Asunción) [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.2, pp.135-148. ISSN 2414-8938.  https://doi.org/10.30545/academo.2019.jul-dic.4.

Numerous studies address the problem of migratory processes due to labor or political issues, but there is an underlying social issue in the origins of National University of Pilar, the relationship between the emigration processes as a consequence of university studies, thus becoming the main objective of the work. The particular history of the National University of Pilar reveals this social issue which is sensitive for the community. The type of research corresponds to the descriptive and exploratory under the quantitative-qualitative approach, used for the analysis of bibliographic sources as well as documents, to which the interpretation of statistical data is added. Both, the results obtained and the discussion made it possible to achieve the objective proposed. The bibliography did not provide data regarding the relationship migration/ higher education, but this was clear in key interviews and in the analysis of the creation of the university project that showed a high impact on the population due to the growth in number of the enrollment and the amount of graduates.

Keywords : University; population mobility; history; Pilar; Paraguay.
