The social phenomenon of football is not a new subject in the academic, political or economic world. Since the 70s this sport was consolidated as the most watched and practiced, especially in Western countries, and today its orbit of influence is global. However, its social implications have only been addressed by the academic field from the eighties, in our region, such as: Archetti, Alabarces, among others, have been the pioneers of social study of football in South America. This essay will address football since the symbolic dynamics of hooligans, and how are you have become, in our region, in an almost indispensable component of football.
