Abstract

DRUET DOMINGUEZ, Nora Verónica; ESCALANTE TORRES, Rafael Humberto; CISNEROS CONCHA, Israel Alberto  and  GUERRERO WALKER, Gladys Julieta. Validity and reliability for Mexican population of the Schwartz Values Scale. Acad. (Asunción) [online]. 2017, vol.4, n.2, pp.39-44. ISSN 2414-8938.  https://doi.org/10.30545/academo.2017.jul-dic.6.

The objective was to stablish the validity and reliability of the Schwartz values scale for mexican population. The sample consisted of 445 students (335 female and 110 male) ranging between 18 and 36 years old. Cronbach’s Alpha test was used to obtain de reliability index. The complete scale has a high internal reliability (α = .864). The Factor Analysis technique was used to extract the factors of the scale; with the aim of obtaining a reason greater than KMO 0.9 (KMO = .854). Reliability of the dominions showed that some of the scales have a poor level of discrimination: Estimulación (α = .584) and Conformidad (α = .532). Finaly, the sub-scale Tradición (α = .438) is unaceptable because it has a low level in the Cronbach’s Alpha. The Factor Analysis realized after eliminating the two items, resulted in eight dominions, instead of the ten from the first time when the two items were included.
