Introduction:

The doctor Francois-Sigismond Jaccoud, described in 1869 in a young patient with rheumatic fever (RF), some joint deformities that consisted of classic deformations observed in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), such as the swan neck, the thumb subluxation, ulnar deviation, but that the main difference had the characteristic that they were reducible to passive movement, for which they were called Jaccoud‘s arthropathy (JA). Clinical Case: First case: 23-year-old female patient, by profession a housewife, with a history of deformity in the hands and feet since she was approximately 6 years old, without treatment. He denied systemic manifestations, arthralgia. Second case: A 61-year-old female patient, housewife by profession, from a rural area, diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) since she was 23 years old, with a history of deformity in the hands and feet since approximately the same age, currently with treatment with hydroxychloroquine and prednisone. He referred joint manifestations such as occasional arthralgia in the hands with significant edema in the fingers. Conclusion: Jaccoud‘s arthropathy (JA) is a reversible chronic nonerosive joint disorder that can occur after repeated episodes of arthritis.
