This article has the purpose of delving into the study of the participation of women and youth in indigenous communities through the national program assisted by the National Council of Science, Humanities and Technology. The way to recognize this presence is the existence of 68 ethnic groups that represent the cultural diversity of our country recognized in the Constitution of the United Mexican States. The objective is to detect practices of violence and symbolic discrimination in social and institutional structures among indigenous women in the Sierra and Huasteca region to guide prevention actions and promotion of fundamental rights from a gender perspective in the indigenous social space. The theoretical perspective is from the theory based on differentiations and understanding structural violence from the concept of gender as a differentiating principle. The indigenous community is a social space that determines the daily dynamics of its members from the perspective of their own recognition of their history, trajectory, language and regulatory systems in which the lives of women and men are organized, where differentiations are accentuated from dominations, not only masculine, but structurally and historically constructed.

Palabras clave : Gender Violence; participatory development; indigenous women.
