Resumen

SUCARI, Wilson et al. Analysis of digital and teaching competence in a Peruvian university study program during the COVID-19 pandemic: Student perspective. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2023, vol.10, n.3, pp.37-48. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2023.010.03.037.

In the information and connectivity society, the use of technology for teaching and learning has become essential. In this regard, the objective of this research was to determine the association between digital competence and teaching competence in the Second Specialty Program in Computational Technology and Informatics at the National University of the Altiplano (Puno, Peru) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the levels of perception of the mentioned variables were evaluated. The research design was a cross-sectional diagnostic-correlational study. The sample consisted of 158 students from the Second Specialty Program in Computational Technology and Informatics (SETCI), class of 2022. Data were collected through a survey technique, using two questionnaires established on the Likert scale: "Questionnaire to measure digital teaching competencies in non-face-to-face environments from the perspective of students" and "Teaching competence evaluation questionnaire," both with high levels of reliability. Data processing was conducted using Spearman's rho correlation analysis, with prior normality analysis. As a result, a considerable positive association of 0.778 with a p-value less than 0.001 was obtained between digital competence and teaching competence. Additionally, high levels of digital and teaching competence were identified (61% and 68%, respectively). It was concluded that there is a considerable and significant positive association between digital competence and teaching competence among teachers in the SETCI program at the mentioned institution.
