The environmental problem in the context of the covid-19 pandemic continues to be a human concern, making it necessary to focus on the environmental culture of citizens to enable the development of a safer and more sustainable society. This article contains an exhaustive review of the most recent studies on environmental culture in education for sustainability. The purpose of this article is to identify the theoretical approaches on the dimensions of environmental culture in education to know its influence on sustainability, answering the question: What dimensions of the environmental culture of students allow to know its influence on educational sustainability? The research process was conducted under the qualitative approach where 50 scientific articles collected from the main databases such as: Scopus, Scielo, Proquest and EBSCO, comprised between the years 2018 to 2022, which collect definitions, results, impacts of studies on environmental culture and its influence with educational sustainability, were systematically reviewed. The results of this study show its approach from three dimensions: conceptual, institutional and pedagogical, which allow knowing the influence that environmental culture has in education on sustainability clarifying the path to follow to work on the improvement of environmental culture from educational institutions.
