CABRAL-ANTUNEZ, Claudia Carolina; GONZALEZ-LLANO, Ana Teresa  e  RAMIREZ-PARRA, Marcos Alejandro. Spatial distribution of Euschistus heros (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) in soybean crops (Glycine max (L.) Merril) in the departments of San Pedro and Itapúa. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.2, pp.77-85. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2022.009.02.077.

The bugs of the Pentatomidae Family are considered one of the most important pests in soybean cultivation, they directly attack the product to be harvested, generating losses. Knowledge of the spatial distributions of bed bugs in soybean crops allows establishing optimal techniques to develop a sampling plan and thus provide information for the efficient management of these pests. The objective was the study of the spatial distribution of Euschistus heros in the Departments of San Pedro and Itapúa. The data surveys were carried out in different locations on farms of soybean producers with different phenological stages and cultivars. Samples were taken from 30 points per plot, where said points were 20 meters apart from each other and the samples were made with a simple batten cloth (1.0 x 1.0 m). The variables that were evaluated were the dispersion indices such as variance/mean ratio or I index, Morisita index, K coefficient and Green's coefficient. It is concluded that the predominant distribution of E. heros in the Departments of San Pedro and Itapúa is aggregate.
