This work’s aim is to characterize the scientific production generated by authors affiliated to the Universidad Nacional de Asunción at the scientific database Scopus. For this purpose, a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out. To this effect, we considered publications hosted in the Scopus database, which had at least one author with affiliation to the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, and corresponding to the year 2020. Documents of the following types were included: scientific article, review article, paper, book/book chapter, articles in press were not included. The results reveal English as the main publication language, scientific articles as the most represented document typology, the significant presence of open access publications, collaboration as the main work mechanism, and Medicine as a relevant thematic area.
