Resumen

FLORES-QUISPE, Eduardo Luis; FLORES-CONDORI, Eduardo  y  HUAQUISTO-CACERES, Samuel. Regionalization of Maximum Daily Rain in Moquegua Perú. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.2, pp.43-57. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2022.009.02.043.

The regionalization of maximum precipitation serves for hydrological design and mitigate disastrous effects. The objectives were: to carry out the regionalization of maximum 24-hour precipitation; determine the relationship between maximum precipitation and geographic factors; and determine the appropriate probability distribution function for each region, in the department of Moquegua in Peru. We use maximum precipitation data from 12 weather stations. We apply an alternative methodology to the methodologies of regionalization of maximum precipitation. We determined homogeneous regions by means of cluster analysis, we carried out the precipitation modulation in each homogeneous region (division between the mean), for each region we obtained the best probability distribution by the X2 and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests. We determine equations between the maximum precipitation means, the return period, the geographic coordinates and the altitude. We obtained five homogeneous regions, the most suitable probability distributions for regions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are respectively: Pareto, Pareto estimated by L-moments, generalized extreme value for minimums estimated by L moments, extreme value type 2 and type 2 extreme value estimated by L-moments. The relationship between maximum precipitation, return period, geographic coordinates and altitude, presents r2 = 0.789 with all statistically significant coefficients (p <0.05).
